शुकस्य योगसिद्धिः (Śuka’s Yogic Attainment and Ascent)
एवमुक्त: स वैदेहं प्रत्युवाचापरोक्षवित् । निवृत्तिर्न तयोरस्ति नानिवृत्ति: कथठ्चन
evam uktaḥ sa vaidehaṁ pratyuvāca aparokṣavit | nivṛttir na tayor asti nānivṛttiḥ kathaṁcana ||
ಇಂತೆ ಕೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಾಗ ಅಪರೋಕ್ಷಜ್ಞಾನಸಂಪನ್ನ ಮಹರ್ಷಿ ಪಂಚಶಿಖನು ವಿದೇಹರಾಜನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದನು—“ಜರಾ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ನಿವೃತ್ತಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುವುದೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಧನ-ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಅವು ದೂರವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದಿಂದ ಪುನರ್ಜನ್ಮಚಕ್ರವೇ ನಿವೃತ್ತವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ—ಆಮೇಲೆ ಜರಾ-ಮರಣದ ಮಾತೇನು?”
