अरिष्टानि प्रवक्ष्यामि विहितानि मनीषिभि: । संवत्सरवियोगस्य सम्भवन्ति शरीरिण:

ariṣṭāni pravakṣyāmi vihitāni manīṣibhiḥ | saṃvatsaraviyogasya sambhavanti śarīriṇaḥ ||

ಈಗ ನಾನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ಅಶುಭ—ಮರಣಸೂಚಕ—ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ದೇಹಧಾರಿಗೆ ದೇಹವಿಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ (ಮರಣಕ್ಕೆ) ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಳಿದಿರುವಾಗ ಅವು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ.
