सत्यनामा वसुमती यं प्राप्पासीज्जनाधिपम् । हिरण्यमवहन् नद्यस्तस्मिज्जनपदेश्वरे
satyanāmā vasumatī yaṃ prāppāsīj janādhipam | hiraṇyam avahan nadyas tasmiñ janapadeśvare ||
ವಾಯು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಆ ಜನಾಧಿಪನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಾಗ ಭೂಮಿ ‘ವಸುಮತೀ’ ಎಂಬ ನಾಮವನ್ನು ಸಾರ್ಥಕಗೊಳಿಸಿತು. ಆ ಜನಪದೇಶ್ವರನು ಆಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ನದಿಗಳು ನೀರಿನ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಚಿನ್ನವನ್ನೂ ಹೊತ್ತು ಹರಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು।
