परिव्राजक-आचारः (Conduct of the Wandering Renunciant) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 269
एवमेव ब्रह्माचारी शुश्रूषुर्घोरनिश्वय: । एवं युक्तो ब्राह्मण: स्यादन्यो ब्राह्मणको भवेत्
evam eva brahmacārī śuśrūṣur ghoraniścayaḥ | evaṁ yukto brāhmaṇaḥ syād anyo brāhmaṇako bhavet ||
ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಗುರುಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತತ್ಪರನಾಗಿ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚರ್ಯನಿಷ್ಠನಾಗಿ, ದೃಢನಿಶ್ಚಯದಿಂದ, ಯೋಗಶಿಸ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಯುಕ್ತನಾಗಿರುವ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚಾರಿಯೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಭಿನ್ನನಾದವನು ಹೀನ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನೋ ಅಥವಾ ಹೆಸರಿನಷ್ಟೇ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನೋ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
