ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana
River-of-Saṃsāra Metaphor
इदं तु लब्ध्वा संस्थानमात्मानं बहु मन्यसे । सर्वभूतभवं देवं ब्रह्माणमिव शाश्वतम्
idaṁ tu labdhvā saṁsthānam ātmānaṁ bahu manyase | sarvabhūtabhavaṁ devaṁ brahmāṇam iva śāśvatam ||
ಈ ಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನೂ ಈ ದೇಹವನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದು ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳ ಮಹಾನ್ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೀಯ—ಸರ್ವಭೂತಗಳ ಜನಕನಾದ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ದೇವ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನಂತೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಇಂದ್ರಪದವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಅಚಲವಾಗಿಯೂ ಅನಂತಕಾಲ ಉಳಿಯುವದಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ—ಅನೇಕರದು ಇದಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಅವರು ಹೋಗಿಹೋದರು. ಮೋಹಿತ ಬುದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ನೀನು ಇದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನದೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೀಯ.
