मनवे सूर्यपुत्राय ददु: खड्गं सुविस्तरम् । बेटा! फिर महेन्द्रने लोकपालोंको और लोकपालोंने सूर्य-पुत्र मननुको वह विशाल खड्ग दे दिया

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಅವರು ಸೂರ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಮನುಗೆ ಆ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ, ಮಹಾಬಲಿಷ್ಠ ಖಡ್ಗವನ್ನು ಪ್ರದಾನಮಾಡಿದರು. ಈ ಕಥಾಪ್ರವಾಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಆಯುಧವು ದಿವ್ಯ ಅನುಮೋದನೆಯಿಂದ ಧರ್ಮರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಸಾಧನವಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಿತವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ—ಕೇವಲ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಬಲದಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ಉನ್ನತ ಮಾನ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾಯಸಮ್ಮತ ಅಧಿಕಾರದಿಂದ ಯೋಗ್ಯ ರಾಜನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
