On Gratitude and Friendship Ethics
काउ्चनैर्यज्ञभाण्डैश्व भ्राजिष्णुभिरलंकृतम् । वृतं देवगणैश्नैव प्रवरैर्यज्ममण्डलम्
kāñcanaiḥ yajñabhāṇḍaiś ca bhrājiṣṇubhir alaṅkṛtam | vṛtaṃ devagaṇaiś caiva pravaraiḥ yajñamaṇḍalam ||
ಆ ಯಜ್ಞಮಂಡಲವು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾದ ಕಂಚನ ಯಜ್ಞಭಾಂಡಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು; ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ದೇವಗಣಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಸುತ್ತುವರಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the sanctity and merit of properly conducted yajña: when ritual order, purity, and excellence are present, the rite becomes a locus of divine attention—symbolized by radiant implements and the presence of the foremost gods.
Bhīṣma describes a magnificent sacrificial arena: it is decorated with shining golden ritual vessels and encircled by eminent divine beings, emphasizing the grandeur and auspicious power of the rite being narrated.
