तम्मित्र कारणं सर्व विस्तरेणापि मे शूणु । कारणात्‌ प्रियतामेति द्वेष्यो भवति कारणात्‌

Transliteration

tan mitra kāraṇaṁ sarvaṁ vistareṇāpi me śṛṇu | kāraṇāt priyatām eti dveṣyo bhavati kāraṇāt ||

Translation

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—“ಮಿತ್ರನೇ, ಇದರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಕೇಳು. ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಪಾತ್ರನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಲೇ ದ್ವೇಷಪಾತ್ರನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.”
