ततो<भ्ययान्महावीर्यों द्वीपी क्षजभोजन: । स्वार्थमत्यन्तसंतुष्ट: क्रूरकाल इवान्तक:
tato 'bhyayān mahāvīryo dvīpī kṣajabhojanaḥ | svārtham atyantasaṃtuṣṭaḥ krūrakāla ivāntakaḥ ||
ನಂತರ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಮಹಾಬಲಿಷ್ಠನಾದ, ಮಾಂಸಭಕ್ಷಕ ಚಿರತೆ ತನ್ನ ಲಾಭದಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸಂತೃಪ್ತನಾಗಿ ಆ ನಾಯಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯಲು ಆ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿ ಬಂದನು—ಕ್ರೂರ ಕಾಲದಂತೆ, ಮರಣದಂತೆ.
