Gadāyuddhe Kṛṣṇopadeśaḥ (Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel in the Mace-Duel) — Śalya-parva 57
tasya bhīmo mahāvegāṃ jāmbūnadapariṣkṛtām
The line underscores kṣatriya resolve in battle: strength and speed are harnessed toward a decisive act, while the ornate, gold-adorned weapon highlights how worldly splendor accompanies—and cannot soften—the harsh ethical reality of war.
Sañjaya describes Bhīma acting with great force, taking up or directing a gold-ornamented weapon, signaling an imminent strike within the ongoing Kurukṣetra combat.
