कोई उनके विषयमें यह निश्चय करने लगे कि “ये ब्रह्माजीके पुत्र, सबके अग्रज एवं ब्रह्मयोनि सनत्कुमार हैं' ।।

Transliteration

ke cin maheśvara-sutaṁ ke cit putraṁ vibhāvasoḥ | umāyāḥ kṛttikānāṁ ca gaṅgāyāś ca vadanty uta ||

Translation

ಕೆಲವರು ‘ಇವನು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ಪುತ್ರ, ಎಲ್ಲರ ಅಗ್ರಜ, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಯೋನಿ ಸನತ್ಕುಮಾರ’ ಎಂದು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದರು. ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೆಲವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಮಹೇಶ್ವರನ ಪುತ್ರ, ಕೆಲವರು ವಿಭಾವಸು (ಅಗ್ನಿ)ಯ ಪುತ್ರ; ಮತ್ತವರು ಉಮೆಯ, ಕೃತ್ತಿಕೆಗಳ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಗಂಗೆಯ ಪುತ್ರನೆಂದೂ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
