यथासुखं जन: सर्वो याति तिष्ठति वै तदा । यातुकामस्य यानानि पानानि तृषितस्य च

Transliteration

yathāsukhaṃ janaḥ sarvo yāti tiṣṭhati vai tadā | yātukāmasya yānāni pānāni tṛṣitasya ca ||

Translation

ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಯಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದು, ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದವರಿಗೆ ವಾಹನಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು; ದಾಹಗೊಂಡವರಿಗೆ ಪಾನೀಯವನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು—ಯಾರ ಅಗತ್ಯವೂ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವಾಗದಂತೆ ಕ್ರಮಬದ್ಧ ಆತಿಥ್ಯ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
