अध्याय १ — न्यग्रोधवनोपवेशनम् तथा द्रौणिनिश्चयः
Night at the Banyan and Drauṇi’s Resolve
दिशं प्राचीं समाश्रित्य हृष्टानां गच्छतां भृशम् । रथनेमिस्वनाश्रैव श्रूयन्ते लोमहर्षणा:,/हर्षमें भरकर पूर्व दिशाकी ओर वेगपूर्वक जाते हुए पाण्डव-योद्धाओंके रथोंके पहियोंके ये रोमांचकारी शब्द कानोंमें पड़ रहे हैं
diśaṁ prācīṁ samāśritya hṛṣṭānāṁ gacchatāṁ bhṛśam | rathanemisvanāś caiva śrūyante lomaharṣaṇāḥ ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಪೂರ್ವ ದಿಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿ, ಹರ್ಷದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ಪಾಂಡವ ಯೋಧರು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ವೇಗದಿಂದ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರ ರಥಚಕ್ರಗಳ ರೋಮಾಂಚಕಾರಿ ಧ್ವನಿಗಳು ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತಿವೆ।
