स्मरन्ति सुकृतान्येव न वैराणि कृतान्यपि । सन्त: परार्थ कुर्वाणा नावेक्षन्ते प्रतिक्रियाम्
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | smaranti sukṛtāny eva na vairāṇi kṛtāny api | santaḥ parārthaṃ kurvāṇā nāvekṣante pratikriyām ||
ಸಜ್ಜನರು ಇತರರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಸತ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೇ ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಮಾಡಿದ ವೈರವನ್ನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಪರಹಿತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತರಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಪ್ರತೀಕಾರವೋ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವೋ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
