Jarāsandha–Bhīma Niyuddha-prastāvaḥ
Commencement of the Regulated Duel
अपरिहार्या मेघानां मागधा मनुना कृता: । कौशिको मणिमांश्वैव चक्राते चाप्यनुग्रहम्,मनुने मगधदेशके निवासियोंको मेघोंके लिये अपरिहार्य (अनुग्राह्म) कर दिया है; (अत: वहाँ सदा ही बादल समयपर यशथेष्ट वर्षा करते हैं।) चण्डकौशिक मुनि और मणिमान् नाग भी मगधदेशपर अनुग्रह कर चुके हैं
aparihāryā meghānāṃ māgadhā manunā kṛtāḥ | kauśiko maṇimāṃś caiva cakrāte cāpy anugraham ||
ವಾಯುದೇವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಮನು ಮಾಗಧರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಮೇಘಗಳಿಗೆ ‘ಅಪರಿಹಾರ್ಯ’ (ವಿಶೇಷ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಪಾತ್ರ)ರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಘಗಳು ಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಇಚ್ಛಿತವಾಗಿ ಮಳೆ ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಚಂಡಕೌಶಿಕ ಋಷಿಯೂ ಮಣಿಮಾನ್ ನಾಗನೂ ಮಾಗಧದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
