हृततेजोबला: सर्वे तदा सेन्द्रा दिवौकस: । ब्रह्माणं शरणं जम्मुर्वत्राद् भीता महासुरात्,उस समय तेज और बलसे हीन हुए इन्द्र आदि सम्पूर्ण देवता महान् असुर वृत्रसे भयभीत हो ब्रह्माजीकी शरणमें गये
sañjaya uvāca | hṛtatejobalāḥ sarve tadā sendrā divaukasaḥ | brahmāṇaṃ śaraṇaṃ jagmur vṛtrād bhītā mahāsurāt ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದ್ರನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸ್ವರ್ಗವಾಸಿ ದೇವರುಗಳು ತೇಜಸ್ಸು ಮತ್ತು ಬಲವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಮಹಾಸುರ ವೃತ್ರನ ಭಯದಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬ್ರಹ್ಮನ ಶರಣಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
