Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how carefully prepared instruments of war can project a majestic, almost sacred brilliance (cloud-thunder and sun imagery). Ethically, it invites reflection on the contrast between outward splendor and the destructive ends to which such power is directed in the Kurukṣetra conflict.

Sañjaya describes a superb chariot that has been fully readied for battle. He emphasizes its thunder-like sound and gold-like radiance, comparing its appearance to the morning sun rising and illuminating the world.
