Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the moral weight of isolation in battle and the ethical poignancy of a lone warrior overwhelmed by many. It also points to the human and dharmic impulse to seek refuge in a trusted protector or ally when one is outmatched.

Sañjaya describes Abhimanyu fighting without support against numerous skilled opponents. In that desperate situation, Abhimanyu repeatedly remembers the one he trusts for aid, indicating his hope for rescue amid an unequal and perilous combat.
