The verse highlights adharma in the form of greed-driven violence: even the sanctity of the royal palace and the safety of a prince are violated when moral restraint collapses. It implicitly warns that war’s disorder can magnify criminal impulses unless checked by dharma and governance.
A group described as greedy plunderers enters the royal palace and forcibly carries off the prince Suvarṇaṣṭhīvin. Vyāsa narrates this as part of a broader depiction of atrocities and breakdown of order during the conflict.
