धर्मराजस्य तद् वाक््यं नाभिशड्कितुमह्सि । “जिसके लिये आपने शस्त्र उठाया, जिसके जीवनकी अभिलाषा रखकर आप जी रहे हैं, वह तो आज पीछे समरभूमिमें गिरकर चिरनिद्रामें सो रहा है और आपको इसकी सूचनातक नहीं दी गयी। धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरके उस कथनपर तो आपको संदेह या अविश्वास नहीं करना चाहिये"
sañjaya uvāca | dharmarājasya tad vākyaṃ nābhiśaṅkitum arhasi |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಧರ್ಮರಾಜ ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನ ಆ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನೀನು ಸಂಶಯಿಸಬಾರದು. ಯಾರಿಗಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಎತ್ತಿದೆಯೋ, ಯಾರ ಜೀವಿತದ ಆಶಯದಿಂದ ನೀನು ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿರುವೆಯೋ, ಅವನು ಇಂದು ಸಮರಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಚಿರನಿದ್ರೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಆ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಕೂಡ ನಿನಗೆ ತಲುಪಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯುಧಿಷ್ಠಿರನ ವಚನವನ್ನು ಸತ್ಯವೆಂದು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸು; ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಯುಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ।
