ಗರ್ಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಹಾಕಾಯರ—ಘಟೋತ್ಕಚ ಮತ್ತು ಅಲಂಬುಷ—ನಡುವೆ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಉದ್ಭವಿಸಿತು; ಅದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ತುಮುಲ, ಭಯಾನಕ, ರೋಮಾಂಚಕರವಾಗಿತ್ತು।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the intensifying nature of war: when pride and rage dominate, combat becomes a terrifying spectacle. Implicitly, it cautions that even extraordinary power, if driven by wrath, deepens destruction and tests one’s capacity for restraint and dharmic judgment.
Sañjaya describes a fierce duel on the battlefield between the gigantic rākṣasa fighters Ghaṭotkaca (on the Pāṇḍava side) and Alambuṣa (on the Kaurava side). Their roaring and immense strength make the encounter especially dreadful and dramatic.
