स कर्ण शरजालेन च्छादयामास पाण्डव:
sa karṇa-śarajālena cchādayāmāsa pāṇḍavaḥ
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಆಮೇಲೆ ಪಾಂಡವನು ಕರ್ಣನನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆಯಿಂದಲೂ ಜಾಲದಂತೆ ಬಾಣವೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದನು; ರಣಸಂಘರ್ಷದ ಒತ್ತಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮಗ್ಗುಚ್ಛಿಸಿದನು. ಇದು ಧರ್ಮಯುದ್ಧದ ತೀವ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ—ಧೈರ್ಯ, ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಂಯಮ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ದೇಶವೂ ಬೇಕು.
