बह्नबद्धमकर्ण्य च चापलादपरीक्षितम् | 'सूतपुत्र! तेरी बुद्धि बहुत ओछी है। इसीलिये तू चपलतावश बिना जाँचे-बूझे बहुत-सी न सुननेयोग्य असम्बद्ध बातें बक जाया करता है
bahnabaddham akarṇya ca cāpalād aparīkṣitam |
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಚಾಪಲ್ಯದಿಂದ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಉಚ್ಚರಿಸಲಾದ ಅನೇಕ ಅಸಂಬದ್ಧ, ಕೇಳಲಾರದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ಅವನ್ನು ‘ಶ್ರವಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅಯೋಗ್ಯ’ವೆಂದು ನಿಂದಿಸಿದನು. ಮತ್ತೂ ಹೇಳಿದನು—“ಸೂತಪುತ್ರಾ! ನಿನ್ನ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಅತಿನೀಚ; ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಅವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ಚಪಲವಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕ ಅಶ್ರಾವ್ಯ, ಅಸಂಬದ್ಧ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಲಾಪಿಸುತ್ತೀಯೆ.”
