The verse underscores the harsh reality of dharma-bound warfare: once battle is joined, a warrior’s duty is carried out with unwavering resolve. It highlights how power and skill, symbolized by sun- and fire-like arrows, become instruments of consequence within a conflict shaped by prior choices and loyalties.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Arjuna has begun slaughtering the Kaurava forces, using blazing arrows likened to the sun and fire, signaling a fierce escalation in the fighting.
