द्रोणकर्णयोः निशि संप्रहारः — Night Engagement with Droṇa and Karṇa
अनर्जुनायां च भुवि मुहूर्तमपि मानद । जीवितुं नोत्सहेरन् वै भ्रातरो5स्य सहानुगा:,“मानद! फिर अर्जुनरहित भूतलपर उनके भाई और अनुगामी सेवक दो घड़ी भी जीवित नहीं रह सकते
anarjunāyāṃ ca bhuvi muhūrtam api mānada | jīvituṃ notsaherān vai bhrātaro 'sya sahānugāḥ ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ಮಾನದ, ಈ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅರ್ಜುನನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನ ಸಹೋದರರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಅನುಯಾಯಿಗಳು ಒಂದು ಮುಹೂರ್ತವೂ ಬದುಕಲು ಧೈರ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how a righteous cause in war can hinge on the presence of a single steadfast protector: courage, hope, and collective resolve often depend on a trusted leader. Ethically, it underscores the responsibility borne by such a champion—others’ morale and survival are tied to his constancy.
Sañjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, emphasizes Arjuna’s indispensability: if Arjuna were removed from the battlefield, his brothers and their supporters would lose the will to live even briefly, indicating the central strategic and psychological role Arjuna plays in the Pāṇḍava camp.
