न चायोधो5भवत् कश्चिन्मम सैन्ये तु संजय । अल्पदानभृतस्तात तथा चाभूतको नर:,तात संजय! मेरी सेनामें ऐसा एक भी योद्धा नहीं रहा होगा जिसे थोड़ा वेतन दिया जाता हो अथवा बिना वेतनके ही रखा गया हो
na cāyodho 'bhavat kaścin mama sainye tu sañjaya | alpādānabhṛtas tāta tathā cābhūtako naraḥ ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ತಾತ ಸಂಜಯ, ನನ್ನ ಸೇನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವೇತನವಿಲ್ಲದ ಯೋಧನೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅಲ್ಪ ದಾನದಿಂದ ಮಾತ್ರ ಪೋಷಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ವೇತನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ।
