Even amid warfare, dharma is sustained through recognizing and honoring true well-wishers (suhṛt). Yudhiṣṭhira’s reflection highlights that ethical strength in crisis depends not only on power but on loyal, selfless friendship.
In the Drona Parva’s intense battle context, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses Sātyaki and, after considering all the fighters, declares that no one surpasses Sātyaki as his most devoted friend and supporter.
