Droṇa-parva 112: Karṇa–Bhīma Engagement and Duryodhana’s Protective Order

धृष्टद्युम्नं च पाउचाल्यमिदमाह जनाधिप:

Educational Q&A

In the battlefield context, the verse highlights kshatriya leadership under crisis: hesitation is censured, and decisive action is urged when a grave threat endangers one’s side. Ethically, it frames courage and prompt duty-performance as necessary responses to fear and danger.

Sanjaya reports that the king addresses Dhrishtadyumna, urging him not to stand idle but to immediately charge at Acharya Drona, because Drona’s prowess has created intense fear and peril for their forces.
