स गाढविद्धो व्यथितो रथोपस्थ उपाविशत् । मोहितं वीक्ष्य राजानं नीलम भ्रचयोपमम्
sa gāḍhaviddho vyathito rathopastha upāviśat | mohitaṃ vīkṣya rājānaṃ nīlam bhracayopamam ||
ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡು ವೇದನೆಯಿಂದ ಕಲುಷಿತನಾಗಿ ಅವನು ರಥದ ಆಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಸಿದು ಕೂತನು. ರಾಜನು ಮೋಹಗ್ರಸ್ತನಾಗಿ—ನೀಲ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ ಮೋಡಗಳ ಗುಂಪಿನಂತೆ ಶ್ಯಾಮವರ್ಣನಾಗಿ—ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, ಸಂಜಯನು ಯುದ್ಧಕೋಲಾಹಲದ ನಡುವೆ ಆ ಗಾಯದ ನುಚ್ಚುನೂರು ಮಾಡುವ ಬಲವನ್ನೂ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದ ಧರ್ಮಭಾರವನ್ನೂ ಅರಿತನು.
