अभिमन्यु–अलम्बुसयुद्धम् / The Duel of Abhimanyu and Alambusa
with Arjuna’s approach to Bhīṣma
समुद्यम्य गदां गुर्वी यमदण्डोपमां रणे
saṃudyamya gadāṃ gurvīṃ yamadaṇḍopamāṃ raṇe | śṛṅgadhārī kailāsaparvatopamāṃ gadām ūrdhvaṃ dhārayantaṃ bhīmasenaṃ dṛṣṭvā duryodhanaś cāśvatthāmā ca yugapat tam abhyadhāvatām ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ರಣಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಮದಂಡದಂತೆ ಭಯಂಕರವಾದ ಆ ಭಾರೀ ಗದೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಭೀಮಸೇನನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ತೂಗಿದನು; ಶೃಂಗಧಾರಿ ಕೈಲಾಸಪರ್ವತದಂತೆ ಅವನು ನಿಂತನು. ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಾಗೆ ಕಂಡ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನ ಮತ್ತು ದ್ರೋಣಪುತ್ರ ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥಾಮ ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಒಂದೇಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಧಾವಿಸಿದರು।
