शकक्‍्यन्ते परिसंख्यातुं पुण्यास्ता हि सरिद्वरा: । तव पुण्या जनपदाश्षत्वारो लोकसम्मता:

Transliteration

śakyante parisaṅkhyātuṃ puṇyāstā hi saridvarāḥ | tava puṇyā janapadāś catvāro lokasammatāḥ ||

Translation

ಆ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ, ಪರಮ ಪುಣ್ಯಮಯ ನದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಎಣಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವುಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸುವುದು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆ ದ್ವೀಪಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಲೋಕಸಮ್ಮತವಾದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಜನಪದಗಳೂ ಇವೆ.
