Yuga-Lakṣaṇa and Varṣa-Pramāṇa Inquiry (युगलक्षण–वर्षप्रमाण–प्रश्न)
वर्णा: स्वकर्मनिरता न च स्तेनोअत्र दृश्यते । दीर्घायुषो महाराज जरामृत्युविवर्जिता:
sañjaya uvāca |
varṇāḥ svakarmaniratā na ca steno ’tra dṛśyate |
dīrghāyuṣo mahārāja jarāmṛtyuvivarjitāḥ ||
ಸಂಜಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ವರ್ಣಗಳ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ನಿಯತ ಕರ್ಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳ್ಳನು ಯಾರೂ ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಓ ಮಹಾರಾಜನೇ! ಆ ದ್ವೀಪದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಕರು; ಜರೆಯೂ ಮರಣವೂ ಎಂಬ ಪೀಡೆಯಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತರು.
