Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
धर्ममेव गुरु ज्ञात्वा तृष्णा न गणिता त्वया । “जब मनुष्यमें दानविषयक रुचि जाग्रत् होती है
dharmam eva guruṁ jñātvā tṛṣṇā na gaṇitā tvayā |
ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನೇ ಗುರುವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ನೀನು ತೃಷ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಏನೂ ಎಂದು ಗಣಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಮನುಷ್ಯನಲ್ಲಿ ದಾನಾಸಕ್ತಿ ಜಾಗೃತವಾದಾಗ ಅವನ ಧರ್ಮ ಕ್ಷೀಣಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಪುತ್ರನ ಸ್ನೇಹ ಇವುಗಳತ್ತಲೂ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ಹಾಕದೆ ನೀನು ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ಕಂಡೆ; ಅದರಿಗಾಗಿ ಹಸಿವು-ಬಾಯಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ತೃಣಪ್ರಾಯವೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿದೆ.
