Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel on Royal Policy to Yudhiṣṭhira
द्विजाग्र्यै: समनुज्ञातस्त्रिदिवे मोदतां सुखम् । “अपने सहायकोंसहित राजा दुर्योधन इन श्रेष्ठ द्विजोंके आशीर्वादसे वीरलोक प्राप्त करे और स्वर्गमें सुख एवं आनन्द भोगे
dvijāgryaiḥ samanujñātas tridive modatāṃ sukham |
ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ದ್ವಿಜರ ಅನುಮತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಅವನು ತ್ರಿದಿವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖದಿಂದ ಆನಂದಿಸಲಿ. ಅಂದರೆ ರಾಜ ದುರ್ಯೋಧನನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯಕರೊಡನೆ ಈ ಮಹನೀಯ ದ್ವಿಜರ ವರಪ್ರಸಾದದಿಂದ ವೀರಲೋಕವನ್ನು ಪಡೆದು ಸ್ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಖಾನಂದವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಲಿ.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even a controversial warrior-king can be portrayed as receiving a posthumous reward—here, heavenly joy—when sanctioned by revered Brahmins; the verse highlights the narrative tension between moral judgment and the tradition that valor and ordained destiny can lead to heavenly attainment.
Vaiśampāyana reports that, with the approval/blessing of eminent Brahmins, the subject (understood in context as Duryodhana with his followers) is said to attain heaven and rejoice there, indicating closure and a form of reconciliation in the post-war moral landscape.
