अश्रमवासिनां विषादः — Lament in Hastināpura after the Elders’ Forest Withdrawal

ब्रह्मकल्पैर्भवद्धिर्यत्‌ समेतो5हं तपोधना: । “तपोधनो! आप ब्रह्मतुल्य महात्माओंका जो संग मुझे प्राप्त हुआ उससे मैं समझता हूँ कि यहाँ अपने लिये अभीष्ट गति मुझे प्राप्त हो गयी

brahmakalpair bhavadbhir yat sameto 'haṃ tapodhanāḥ | tapodhano! āp brahmatulya mahātmāoṃkā jo saṅga mujhe prāpta huā usse maiṃ samajhtā hūṃ ki yahāṃ apne liye abhīṣṭa gati mujhe prāpta ho gayī |

ವೈಶಂಪಾಯನನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಓ ತಪೋಧನರೇ! ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಸಮಾನ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗ ನನಗೆ ದೊರೆತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಇಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಾನು ಬಯಸಿದ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾವಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮತುಲ್ಯ ಮಹಾಪುರುಷರ ಸಮಾಗಮವೇ ಮಾರ್ಗವೂ, ಪರಮ ಗಮ್ಯವೂ—ಅದು ಶುದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಉನ್ನತಿಗೇರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಪರಮ ಹಿತವನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ।
