Cows and Ghee as Supreme Purifiers
रुष्टा दुष्टा व्याधिता दुर्बला वा नो दातव्या याश्र मूल्यैरदत्तै: । क्लेशैविंप्रं योडफलै: संयुनक्ति तस्यावीर्याश्षवाफलाश्वैव लोका:
bhīṣma uvāca |
ruṣṭā duṣṭā vyādhitā durbalā vā na dātavyā yāś ca mūlyair adattaiḥ |
kleśa eva vipraṁ yo ’phalaiḥ saṁyunakti tasyāvīryāś ca aphalāś caiva lokāḥ ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಕೋಪಿಷ್ಠಳಾದ, ದುಷ್ಟಸ್ವಭಾವದ, ರೋಗಗ್ರಸ್ತಳಾದ ಅಥವಾ ದುರ್ಬಲಳಾದ ಹಸುವನ್ನು—ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬೆಲೆ ಪಾವತಿಸದೇ ಪಡೆದ ಹಸುವನ್ನು—ದಾನ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು. ಇಂಥ ಫಲರಹಿತ ದಾನದಿಂದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನಿಗೆ ಕೇವಲ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನೇ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವವನಿಗೆ, ಶಕ್ತಿಹೀನ ಮತ್ತು ಫಲವಿಲ್ಲದ ಲೋಕಗಳೇ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತವೆ.
