प्रसादयामास मनस्तेन रुद्रस्य भारत । भरतनन्दन! ऐसा कहकर प्रजापतिने महादेवजीको बहुत-सी गौएँ और एक बैल भेंट किये तथा इसी उपायके द्वारा उनके मनको प्रसन्न किया

Transliteration

prasādayāmāsa manas tena rudrasya bhārata | bharatanandana! evaṃ uktvā prajāpatiḥ mahādevajīṃ bahu-gāvaḥ ekaṃ vṛṣabhaṃ ca bhent kṛtvā, anena upāyena tasya manaḥ prasannaṃ cakāra |

Translation

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಓ ಭಾರತ! ಇದೇ ಉಪಾಯದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಜಾಪತಿಯು ರುದ್ರನ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಗೊಳಿಸಿದನು. ಓ ಭರತನಂದನ! ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಪ್ರಜಾಪತಿಯು ಮಹಾದೇವನಿಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ಗೋವುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ವೃಷಭವನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ, ಇದೇ ವಿಧಾನದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಭುವಿನ ತೃಪ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಿದನು.
