गावो लक्ष्म्या: सदा मूलं गोषु पाप्मा न विद्यते । अन्नमेव सदा गावो देवानां परमं हवि:
gāvo lakṣmyāḥ sadā mūlaṃ goṣu pāpmā na vidyate | annam eva sadā gāvo devānāṃ paramaṃ haviḥ ||
ಚ್ಯವನನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಹಸುಗಳು ಸದಾ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿಯ ಮೂಲ; ಹಸುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪದ ಲೇಶವೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಹಸುಗಳೇ ಮಾನವರಿಗೆ ನಿರಂತರ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವವು, ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರಮ ಹವಿಸ್ಸು (ಯಜ್ಞಾರ್ಪಣೆ) ಆಗುವವು।
