परिखेदपरित्रासाज्जालस्यथाकर्षणेन च । मत्स्या बभूवुर्व्यापन्ना: स्थलसंस्पर्शनेन च
parikhedaparitrāsāj jālasya athākarṣaṇena ca | matsyā babhūvur vyāpannāḥ sthala-saṁsparśanena ca ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಬಲೆಯಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾದ ತೀವ್ರ ದಣಿವು ಮತ್ತು ಭಯದಿಂದ, ಬಲೆಯನ್ನು ಎಳೆದು ಹೊರತೆಗೆದ ಕಷ್ಟದಿಂದ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಒಣ ನೆಲದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಶದಿಂದ ಅನೇಕ ಮೀನುಗಳು ಸತ್ತುವಿಟ್ಟವು. ಮೀನುಗಳ ಈ ಸಂಹಾರವನ್ನು ಕಂಡ ಮುನಿ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಂದ ಆವೇಶಗೊಂಡು, ಮರುಮರು ದೀರ್ಘ ನಿಶ್ವಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡತೊಡಗಿದರು।
