Strī-satkāra (On honoring women) — Mahābhārata 13.46
कुर्वाणं हि नरं कर्म पापं रहसि सर्वदा | पश्यन्ति ऋतवश्वापि तथा दिननिशे<प्युत,एकान्तमें पापकर्म करते हुए पुरुषको ऋतुएँ तथा रात-दिन सदा देखते रहते हैं
kurvāṇaṃ hi naraṃ karma pāpaṃ rahasi sarvadā | paśyanti ṛtavaś cāpi tathā dinaniśe 'py uta ||
ವಿಪುಲನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಪಾಪಕರ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಅವನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕಾಣದವನಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಋತುಗಳೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹಗಲು-ರಾತ್ರಿಯೂ ಸದಾ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತವೆ. ಕಾಲಧರ್ಮದ ಮುಂದೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಿದ ಅಧರ್ಮವೂ ಬಹಿರಂಗವೇ.
