Śulka, Kanyā, and Dauhitra-Riktha: Discourse on Bride-Price and Inheritance Rights (शुल्क-कन्या-दौहित्र-रिक्थविचारः)
तस्य चिन्तयतस्तात वहूव्यो दिननिशा ययु: । इदमासीन्मनसि स रुच्या रक्षणकारितम्
tasya cintayatas tāta bahvyo dina-niśā yayuḥ | idam āsīn manasi sa rucyā rakṣaṇa-kāritam ||
ಓ ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ! ಅವನು ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅನೇಕ ದಿನಗಳೂ ರಾತ್ರಿಗಳೂ ಕಳೆದುಹೋಯವು. ಆಗ ರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಅವನ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದೃಢ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪ ಉದಯವಾಯಿತು.
