इति निश्चित्य मनसा रक्षां प्रति स भार्गव: । अन्वतिष्ठत् परं यत्नं यथा तच्छृणु पार्थिव
iti niścitya manasā rakṣāṃ prati sa bhārgavaḥ | anvatīṣṭhat paraṃ yatnaṃ yathā tac chṛṇu pārthiva pṛthvīnātha |
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಈ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಶ್ಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ಆ ಭಾರ್ಗವನು ಪರಮ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡನು. ಅದು ಹೇಗೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು, ಓ ರಾಜನೇ—ಕೇಳು.
