पात्रलक्षण-परिक्षा (Pātra-Lakṣaṇa Parīkṣā) — Criteria for a Worthy Recipient
वासयेत गृहे राजन् न तस्मात् परमस्ति वै । राजन! विशुद्ध जातिसे युक्त तथा तीक्ष्ण व्रतका पालन करनेवाले धर्मज्ञ ब्राह्मणको अपने घरमें ठहराना चाहिये। इससे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई पुण्यकर्म नहीं है

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಹೇ ರಾಜನೇ! ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿಥಿಗೆ ವಾಸಕೊಡಬೇಕು; ಅದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೇಲಾದ ಪುಣ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಶುದ್ಧ ವಂಶಜ, ಕಠೋರ ವ್ರತಪರ, ಧರ್ಮಜ್ಞನಾದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣನಿಗೆ ಗೃಹವಾಸ ನೀಡುವುದು—ಇದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ ಪುಣ್ಯಕರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತೊಂದಿಲ್ಲ.
