Vītahavya’s Attainment of Brāhmaṇya (Vītahavya–Vipratva) | वीतहव्यस्य ब्राह्मण्यप्राप्तिः
मतज़ सम्प्रधार्यवं यदहं त्वामचूचुदम् । वृणीष्व कामम-्यं त्वं ब्राह्मुण्यं हि सुदुर्लभम्
Mataṅga, sampradhāryaivaṃ yad ahaṃ tvām acūcudam | vṛṇīṣva kāmam anyaṃ tvaṃ brāhmaṇyaṃ hi sudurlabham ||
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು— “ಓ ಮತಂಗ! ಹೀಗೆ ಚಿಂತಿಸಿ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ— ‘ನಿನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವರವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೋ; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿಜವಾದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣತ್ವವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದುರ್ಲಭ.’”
