युधिष्ठिर महायोगी वीर्यवानक्षयोडव्यय: । 'सावर्णिक मन्वन्तरके समय जो सृष्टि होगी

Transliteration

Māṇḍavya uvāca—acauras tvaṁ caurasaṅkāyāṁ śūle bhinno hāhaṁ tadā.

Translation

ಮಾಂಡವ್ಯನು ಹೇಳಿದನು— ಓ ನರೇಶ್ವರ! ನಾನು ಕಳ್ಳನಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೂ ಕಳ್ಳತನದ ಸಂಶಯದಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಶೂಲಾರೋಹಣ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಅದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮಹಾದೇವ ಶಂಕರನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದೆ. ಆಗ ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು— “ವಿಪ್ರವರ! ನೀನು ಶೂಲದಿಂದ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಪಡೆಯುವೆ; ಹತ್ತು ಕೋಟಿ ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಜೀವಿಸುವೆ. ಶೂಲವು ದೇಹವನ್ನು ಭೇದಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ ನಿನಗೆ ನೋವು ಆಗದು; ನೀನು ಆಧಿ-ವ್ಯಾಧಿಗಳಿಂದ ಮುಕ್ತನಾಗುವೆ.”
