मर्द नामाहुतिमयं व्यादितास्यं महामुनि: । तस्य दन्‍तसहस््रं तु बभूव शतयोजनम्‌

Transliteration

marda nāmāhutimayaṃ vyāditāsyaṃ mahāmuniḥ | tasya dantahasraṃ tu babhūva śatayojanam ||

Translation

ಮಹಾಮುನಿಯು ಹವಿಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಮಿತ ‘ಮರ್ದ/ಮದ’ ಎಂಬ ಸತ್ತ್ವವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದನು; ಅದು ಬಾಯಿ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ ನಿಂತಿತು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾವಿರ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಇದ್ದು, ಅವು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದೂ ನೂರು ಯೋಜನ ಎತ್ತರವಾಗಿದ್ದವು।
