व्यजयच्छत्रुसंघांश्व देवानां स्वेन तेजसा । अत्रिणा दह्ामानांस्तान् दृष्टवा देवा महासुरान्
vyajayac chatrusaṅghāṁś ca devānāṁ svena tejasā | atriṇā dahyamānāṁs tān dṛṣṭvā devā mahāsurān |
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು— ತನ್ನದೇ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ತೇಜಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅವನು ದೇವತೆಗಳ ಶತ್ರುಸಂಘಗಳನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಿದನು. ಅತ್ರಿಯ ತೇಜಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಆ ಮಹಾಸುರರು ದಹನಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಅತ್ರಿಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತರಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಕೂಡ ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಆ ದೈತ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅತ್ರಿಯು ಸವಿತೃನನ್ನು (ಸೂರ್ಯನನ್ನು) ದೀಪ್ತಿಮಂತನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಪಾಯದಿಂದ ಉದ್ಧರಿಸಿ, ಅಸುರರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದನು।
