स्ववित्तं तेन दत्तं तु दत्तात्रेयाय कारणे । क्षत्रधर्म पुरस्कृत्य विनयं श्रुतमेव च
svavittaṁ tena dattaṁ tu dattātreyāya kāraṇe | kṣatradharma-puraskṛtya vinayaṁ śrutam eva ca
ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಆ ಕಾರಣಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಧನವನ್ನು ದತ್ತಾತ್ರೇಯನಿಗೆ ದಾನಮಾಡಿದನು; ಕ್ಷಾತ್ರಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಮುಂಚಿಟ್ಟು, ವಿನಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಶ್ರುತಿ-ಉಪದೇಶಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡನು.
