आवर्तनो निवृत्तात्मा संवृत: सम्प्रमर्दन: । अहःसंवर्तको वल्लिरनिलो धरणीधर:

Transliteration

āvartano nivṛttātmā saṁvṛtaḥ sampramardanaḥ | ahaḥsaṁvartako vahnir anilo dharaṇīdharaḥ ||

Translation

ಭೀಷ್ಮನು ಹೇಳಿದರು—ಅವನು ಆವರ್ತನ, ಸಂಸಾರಚಕ್ರವನ್ನು ಚಲಿಸುವವನು; ಆದರೂ ನಿವೃತ್ತಾತ್ಮ, ಸ್ವತಃ ಬಂಧನದಿಂದ ನಿತ್ಯಮುಕ್ತ. ಅವನು ಸಂವೃತ, ತನ್ನ ಯೋಗಮಾಯೆಯಿಂದ ಆವೃತನಾದವನು; ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪ್ರಮರ್ದನ, ರುದ್ರಾದಿ ಉಗ್ರರೂಪಗಳಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ದಮನಿಸುವವನು. ಅವನು ಅಹಃಸಂವರ್ತಕ, ಸೂರ್ಯರೂಪವಾಗಿ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವರ್ತಿಸುವವನು; ವಹ್ನಿ, ಹವಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊರುವವನು; ಅನಿಲ, ಪ್ರಾಣರೂಪವಾದ ವಾಯು; ಮತ್ತು ಧರಣೀಧರ, ವರಾಹ-ಶೇಷರೂಪಗಳಿಂದ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸುವವನು।
