Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
यत् तद् भगवता पूर्व दत्त चक्रं तवानघ । जलान्तरचरं हत्वा दैत्यं च बलगर्वितम्
yat tad bhagavatā pūrva datta cakraṁ tavānagha | jalāntaracaraṁ hatvā daityaṁ ca balagarvitam ||
ವಾಸುದೇವನು ಹೇಳಿದನು—ನಿಷ್ಪಾಪನೇ! ಜಲಾಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸುವ ಬಲಗರ್ವಿತ ದೈತ್ಯನನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿ ಭಗವಂತನು ಹಿಂದೆ ನಿನಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಆ ಚಕ್ರವನ್ನು, ಸ್ವತಃ ವೃಷಧ್ವಜ (ಶಿವ)ನೇ ಉತ್ಪಾದಿಸಿ ನಿನಗೆ ದತ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅದು ಅಗ್ನಿಸಮಾನ ದೀಪ್ತ, ಅದ್ಭುತ ತೇಜಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಯುಕ್ತ, ದುರ್ಧರ್ಷವಾದ ಆಯುಧ.
